Depth Perception - Mini Intuitive Primer

The following is an excerpt from Charley’s Intuitive Awakening seminars.

A mini primer on cultivating intuitive perceptual clarity.

The perpetual process of Intuition is one of grabbing clues, signposts, and hunches when they first land on your radar, the golden rule is applying soft – not hard - focus.

The first intuitive impression received, I call a “guide impression”. Guide Impressions are fleeting flashes that illuminate the sensory pallet a split second before analysis sets in. Guidance, like food, is best enjoyed fresh. So these guide impressions need to be captured and interpreted in a flash.

Intuitive Guidance is routed through a threefold context of distinct time zones- past, present and future. Guidance however, is largely about now. Guidance prefers now, to then and when.
Guidance is biased toward the present and just occasionally hints at the future. Accept the challenge to embrace every inner perception as an incoming package of personal revelation. Receiving guidance is not nearly as arduous as one might imagine. If you want to know what your guidance system is telling you – start the engines by listening.

Here is the Pro Intuitive four step process:

  1. Listening (internally)
  2. Feeling (internally)
  3. Suspending analytical thought
  4. Run with your guidance“- manifest vision tangibly in the world... trust your sensory map and gently move along the path of depth perception.

Intuition functions as the navigational system and immune system for the soul. Embedded and encoded in your blood and bones is a compass that always points true north. Interiorize your focus. Looking inward, practice presence and quieting- just seat into stillness and your inner lens won’t fog.

Intuition is an early warning system, the alarm sounding inside your nerves when things are amiss. Intuition’s guiding force puts “eyes” in the back of your head, navigating you toward nourishing critical choices. By trusting your gut, you save mammoth amounts of time and energy over second guessing. Guidance speaks in subtle, hushed tones… listen deeply- enjoy the ride.

Meditation Musings & Winter Events

Journey to the center of self... Meditation is a sanity saving skill that deserves to be honed; steeping in daily silence reintroduces the joy and expansiveness of total being-ness, not just the doing-ness. Although it can take a while to become seated into inner silence, it’s worth every effort. Eventually you will feel a sense of bliss and balance that was previously eclipsed by compulsive busyness.

Meditation is a technique for “reversing the senses.” Through quieting and internalizing focus we redirect energy towards the core of the self. After meditation most folks feel re-set and refreshed, perceiving more vivid color and imagery upon the screen of consciousness.

Too often seekers relate to the practice of turning attention inward as either an exercise in seeking redemption or a frustrating battle to quiet the mind. If we meditate properly, the mind naturally quiets down. We just have to dig through the top layers of restlessness - like drilling a well – patience and persistence pay off. Eventually, when we stabilize to “still point”, we move to the interior where the “light and sound” totally eclipses the runaway train of thoughts taking up real estate in our melons. The process is simple, close your eyes, relax and notice the rhythmic cycle of your breath. Focus on feeling internally – relax into breathing, let the thoughts come and go. If you encounter passing thoughts, redirect focus toward feeling your breath. Relax, let go, and enjoy the ride.

Metaphysical Musings

The point of widening your spiritual vision is to venture beyond mere observation - to see straight to the core of self and visually penetrate the tough outer rind of the physical world. If you are brave enough, as a Spiritual seeker you can will yourself to become “visionary”. Signs – wonders and portents always loom about – mystics are the only oddballs to take notice. We just have to dare to look closer... much closer.

I conceive of my function as a Psychic like a Metaphysical air traffic controller. I navigate each message to its final destination. I toil at fitting the correct puzzle pieces into a personal portrait of perceptions. I have to be listening in the extreme, often while delivering impressions. I am split down the middle, verbally interpreting and relaying imagery with one ear craned toward the stream of incoming guidance data.

Intuition is more a matter of the soul than the mind. Cultivating Intuition is actually quite simple. Just make room for perception by creating space in the heart and mind for something other than neurosis and narcissism. Same principal applies when decorating a room - you start by emptying out closets and moving furniture, creating open space to work with.

I invite you to open head, heart, and inner eye. Prepare for profound depth perception.

Grace & Guidance Abides,
Charley

Return to Roatan

Back from Roatan Island, Honduras! Our 7-Day Spiritual Retreat was a rich composite of Grace, purring surf, tropical breezes, and gut busting laughter amongst our ensemble. The azure Caribbean Sea holds sway to the second largest coral reef system in the world, incredible underwater gardens! This curious little Paradise Island called Roatan worked its subtle magic on me, Kathryn, and our exceptional group. Join us – the next 2015 Caribbean Spiritual Retreat will be put into the detail works soon!

Waiting on the Island departure line at airport, a fellow asked me in a confusingly condensing tone, “You couldn’t leave your guitar at home while on vacation?” No sir, definitely not. One time I spent a month traveling about Italy without guitars or drums... I nearly returned home sporting a straitjacket. Music floated on the lofty currents of Roatan Island.

I actually enjoy playing for folks. In fact, we all played found instruments together. We waxed campy on African drums, jungle vocals, and solitary acoustic guitar. Some danced impressively to our joyous racket. Upachaya Eco Lodge auspiciously supplied a drum set in the Mangrove event room. How synchronistic is that?

On Island, I also played an impromptu gig sitting in with the local band, performing on the marina of a beatific bay (no house drum set there) but I shook the Tambourine and wildly beat a sonorous wood beam bracing the dock simulating drums. In an effort to please the ears of the packed house, I improvised melodic suggestions on both a Honduran beer bottle and a high pitched cocktail glass (not mine... I was conspicuously well behaved drinking only bottled water).

The seven day Spiritual Retreat was capped off with my appearance on the “Holistic Living” radio show with Barbara Wastart, which aired March 1st. I discussed approaches to demystifying the organic process of perceiving guidance. It was a good interview and a recording was secured, once we edit out the commercials it will post in on the Press & Media page. Enjoy this metaphysical Food for Thought - a tasty morsel of sustenance for the soul.

As a professional intuitive I am most often asked how I can be sure an impression is “true” and not just a random passing thought. My two word explanation is - subtle discernment. Much like a book that “leaps” off the shelf amongst other titles at the book store, genuine guidance captures your attention. Real guidance has a glow around it - it gleams. Not getting caught up in the idea of whether your impressions are fanciful thoughts or genuine spiritual guidance is ironically important. A person has to relax analytical thinking and judging faculties to embrace feeling.
Interpreting inner guidance is fully a matter of feeling. Messages calling for attention are glaringly obvious, so take notice of that glow emanating from the Elephant in your room.

How can you know when your stomach is full? You sense it organically, employing the same nerve endings that identify various sensations like butterflies in the belly. The first step of Intuitive Development is discerning affirmative signals from negative signals (thumbs up or thumbs down). Notice how inner impressions emotionally strike you; are you left with a feeling of buoyancy or weightiness?

The secret, strange to say, is complete lack of attachment to incoming information. A good Intuitive doesn’t worry too much whether incoming imagery is imagined or real. They just progressively deepen the art of listening. When you can sense beyond the surface of thought, you will be well on your way to awakening Intuition. Good fisherman can feel the first wiggle-jiggle of thin nylon line... you can just as easily sense inner imagery and sensations. Practice casting your line of attention internally – if you hook an old tire, just throw it back and patiently wait for the “big one” to bite. If you dig deeper, eventually the vein of insight gets tapped.

I read for the heart, from the heart – my technique is simple. Internally I look, listen, feel, and focus. Guidance is directive grace in the skeletal lining of your soul waiting to be discovered. Dig in.

Grace always,
Charley
